It is located in a rural landscape surrounded by mountains in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The client is a family of five who decided to return to their hometown from the Kanto region.
When I visited the site before designing it, looking at the verdant rural landscape and the beautiful well-maintained footpaths between the footpaths, I came up with the idea of a house that looks like it's neatly floating in the midst of this greenery.
The owner requested a house that could grow with the family by making the best use of this nature. Since there are many opportunities for families and siblings to gather together, the plan was designed with the idea of having meals outdoors so that many people can gather and enjoy themselves.
The living room, which is a place for relaxation, has a beautiful view in every direction, so we carefully considered the layout, volume, and the position of the openings. Since the site is relatively spacious, a kitchen garden space has been arranged, and space has been secured for the guest room building, which is scheduled to be built in the future.
We hope that the sight of many families and neighbors gathering together and living happily in this residence will take root as part of the lush green scenery.
