Michelgroup’s design for the new Service Center Neue Mitte Ulm repositions the SWU creating a retail-based atmosphere for customers to meet a variety of needs including energy, city transportation, as well as buying tickets for events such as concerts. In addition, this is a one-stop shop for all other municipal information and services.

With the use of color and materials, the building creates a bridge between the cathedral and the historic city hall and conveys a familiar, but innovative, picture with its classically structured gabled and contemporary flush façade. Historic elements from the surrounding area and previously used classic materials were re-interpreted and built into the new façade concept. Its elegant visual impact is the result of thoroughly meticulous detailing and implementation planning.
