Re-urbanisation of the Isola Campagna, former bastion of Podo, Venitian Lagoon

Location

Study Ecological Reurbanisation of derelict islands in the Venitian Lagoon:
Some nowadays derelict islands in the lagoon of Venice such as Poveglia or Podo could be brought to life again, in particular when a reconstruction of the original building fabric is inappropriate. The concept envisages a settlement for families, couples and singles in a imbedded community. Equipped with automotive electric mobility, sharing gardens for vegetable growing and a local sewage treatment, those islands could play an exemplary role preserving nature and environment in the lagoon of Venice.
Surface: Formerly 0.58ha, nowadays 0.4ha, project with relined waterline of 0.55ha
The project is part of the exhibition at the Venice 2021 Architectural Biennal, ECC, Palazzo Mora
